What is the first step in achieving my surgical dreams? Scheduling a consultation with Williams Plastic Surgery. Our consultations are individualized for each patient, offering the opportunity to ask any and all questions and discuss any concerns you may have. Together we will explore the pros and cons of each surgical option and choose the best procedure for you based on your desired results. For example, if you’re considering breast augmentation, the consult allows you to learn about the different types of implants and surgical choices to go along with each type. You would also be able to try on implant sizers to visualize your potential results. Have a favorite dress or bikini? Bring it to your consult to see how your new shape will compliment it.
To schedule your consultation with Williams Plastic Surgery, call or text us at… There is a $75 commitment to secure your appointment, but we would then apply the $75 to your surgical quote once you schedule your surgery. Please plan to spend at least an hour with us for you consultation- possibly more if we’re discussing a combination of several different procedures.
After the best surgical plan is decided for you, our Cosmetic Coordinator will be able to give you an individualized surgical quote. Our cosmetic quotes cover all surgical expenses including Dr. Williams’ fees, facility fees, anesthesia fees, your pre-operative appointment and all follow up appointments related to your surgery. Quotes are good for 3 months after your consultation. It is probable that you would need to return for a brief, second consult to confirm the surgical plan if you wait longer than 3 months to schedule. Once you schedule and pay your 20% deposit, your quote is locked in no matter how far out your surgery is scheduled.
Normally, Dr. Williams’ schedule for consultations stays booked about 6-8 weeks out from the moment you initially contact our office. If you would like to move forward with surgery quickly, we could schedule our initial consult with our Physician Assistant, Allison Wilson, PA-C. Allison would be able to offer surgical options, take necessary measurements and talk through details of each procedure with you to create a tentative surgical plan. After speaking with Allison, our Cosmetic Coordinator could provide your cosmetic quote. Once you scheduled your surgery, we would then schedule your pre-operative appointment where you would be able to meet with Dr. Williams, in addition to other clinical staff, to confirm your surgical plan.
Need to reschedule your consultation? We simply ask for 48 hours notice to allow time to fill that spot. If a consultation is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, the $75 is then collected as a cancellation fee.
I’m traveling for surgery from another state. How is the process different for me? The team at Williams Plastic Surgery desires to make your surgical journey as enjoyable and efficient as possible. There are situations where we may choose to perform a consultation remotely or over the telephone requiring our patient to only make the long trip once. In this case, we could schedule surgery after the virtual consult and, then, you could fly in a few days prior to surgery to complete the pre-operative appointment and meet Dr. Williams face-to-face. Depending on the procedure performed, we may require you to have an extended stay after surgery until you are cleared to return home. Our staff would be able to assist you in making your stay as comfortable as possible by offering suggestions on hotels, car rentals, restaurants, or assistance with securing any medical equipment you may need temporarily as you recover, such as a recliner for sleeping safely and comfortably.
I’ve had my consultation and I’m ready to book surgery. Now what? Once you’re ready to choose your surgical date, we will collect 20% of your surgical quote as a deposit to lock in the date of your choice. Next, we will schedule your pre-operative appointment- normally two weeks prior to your surgical date. The pre-operative appointment allows our clinical team to go over all the big and small details of surgical preparation and aftercare, as well as what you can expect the day of surgery and the days/weeks after surgery.
At your pre-operative appointment, we will have you sign consent forms, take your “before” pictures, discuss any needed post-operative garments, go over your surgical prescriptions and what medications and vitamins to avoid prior to surgery, and collect any remaining quote balance.
How can I pay for my surgery? We accept all major credit cards as well as offer patient financing through Care Credit (Apply at carecredit.com). For payment of the final balance, we can only accept a personal check 14 days or more prior to surgery to ensure it has time to clear the bank. If your surgery is less than 14 days away, we will have to have a cashier’s check.
Where will my surgery take place? Although Dr. Williams has operating privileges at the local hospital, most surgeries are performed within the surgery center located inside Dr. Williams’ practice- the Day Surgery and Recovery Center. The Day Surgery and Recovery Center is a state-accredited, state of the art surgical facility with a pre-operative suite, recovery suite, and two operating rooms. Dr. Williams and his team have also achieved accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), going above and beyond the requirements set forth by the state.
The Day Surgery and Recovery Center offers patients both the privacy and affordability that a large hospital cannot as the staff can control all aspects of costs and staffing within their private facility. Patients of the Day Surgery and Recovery Center enjoy seeing familiar faces on their surgery day. Families of patients appreciate the private and comfortable family waiting room offering streaming services, coffee or snacks to help pass the time as they wait.
Certain procedures or specifics of your medical history could require you to complete medical clearance prior to scheduling your surgery. At times a patient’s age, previous diagnosis or prescribed medications require additional bloodwork, medical tests or visits to another physician for a letter of medical clearance. This must be obtained prior to choosing your surgical date. Our staff will discuss your medical history with you in detail at your initial consultation so you can know before you leave that day what, if any, medical clearance would be required from you prior to scheduling your surgery.
